Program Overview

The 300 Clock Hour/28 Quarter Hour Neuromuscular Massage Therapy Certificate Program will prepare students in the manual application of specialized pressure and strokes. Students will work with fascial sculpting, fascial cleaning, cross fiber frictioning, ischemic compression, deep circular compression and effective and appropriate use of the T-Bar. The program includes specific massage techniques to address the identification palpation and treatment of individual muscles as well as the nervous system influence on such muscles.

Program Objectives

  • Prepare students to work at an advanced level in the specialized field of neuromuscular massage.
  • Demonstrate competency in evaluative and therapeutic techniques.
  • Develop proficiency in identifying functions and dysfunctions of the tissues and the ability to discuss treatment procedures and their purpose with adjunct health care professionals.

Prerequisite Must be a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT) or enrolled in a Massage Therapy program.

Completion

  • 12 months (maximum)

Definitions

  • Full Time Student is one who is taking a minimum of 12 quarter credits.
